The boys were lucky enough to receive a copy of Jump Start World, a computer learning game, to review. I can't pull them away from it... They LOVE it. It's become one of those "things" that I use... you know like... "clean your rooms if you want to play Jump Start!!!" And it works!! They run to accomplish their task so they can play more.
What's nice about Jump Start, is that it's FUN... like, really, really fun! Isaiah's character has a puppy now. His name is Bandit. Isaiah's taught him all sorts of tricks and Malachi's character has a cabin that he decorated with art work. But to get those things there are games that build math, reading and critical thinking skills. The boys work to earn "gems" and with those gems they are able to buy things at the store, and open up new places to explore.I like that it's challenging. Isaiah (age 9) has breezed through the games, but he isn't bored at all. Malachi (age 5) has to spend more time on the games, but he doesn't get frustrated because of all the fun things he is earning.
Out of ALL the things I've reviewed this is my absolute favorite. I would absolutely buy this (and I plan on buying the other levels I don't have).
So... Good News!! The Jump Start website offers a free trial that you can download and the game is $19.95 and is for K, 1st and 2nd grade.
